Autumn/Winter Clothing Haul

After a busy few months, I decided to have a clear out and get rid of my old and tatty autumn/winter clothes and replace them with new. Over the last few months I have collected bits and pieces and thought I would share them as there are some lovely pieces. Trying to remember everything which I bought over the last few months is definitely an extreme sport!

First of all I’m going to start with what I picked up from Asos. The first item I chose was this mocha brown coloured jumper by JDY. I absolutely love the mocha/chocolate colour trend that’s been going round so was happy when I found this. It’s a lovely jumper but I have to say it’s quite itchy. It’s not a very soft knit it’s more fibrous hence why it itches like crazy, especially if you have sensitive skin but it is a nice jumper and will go with most things. This jumper retailed for £20 but unfortunately it’s out of stock now.

The second item I picked up was a pair of biker boots. Something I really needed were some proper biker boots as my old pair broke. The ones I picked out are these gorgeous black croc ones that lace up and have buckles on them by Asos Design. I was watching a YouTube haul with these boots on and the person who bought them said that they aren’t true to size and a little bit tight so with that in mind I went with the wide fit version and mine are absolutely fine, I will say though that the buckles are very noisy when you are walking in them and if you wear them with tights you have a huge chance of them pulling on the tights and possibly creating ladders. These boots retail for £35 and you can buy them here.

Something else I needed for this year was a new raincoat! I picked up this New Look one and as nice as it is I had so much trouble with it. I originally bought it from a New Look store in my 1 size up and it was too small so I returned it and repurchased it from Asos where it turned up with a hole in the lining that is literally the same size as the sleeve so for anyone wanting this coat be aware that it runs small and you will need to size up at least 2 sizes and that is also without layering underneath and it isn’t the best quality but it is a nice coat and will do the job. It retails for £46 and is available in regular sizes and plus size you can buy it here.

So, I know we can’t go out anywhere at the moment but I wanted a nice pair of boots to go out in when everything opens up again. I already had some very similar but the zips were so dodgy on them and wouldn’t work properly so I just thought I would repurchase another pair. This pair are so much nicer and better quality and these are by the brand London Rebel and retail for £32. These boots are comfy to wear and the heel isn’t too high either so you could easily wear these all night. You can buy them here.

Something else I really wanted this year was a nice fleece top. The one I picked out is by The North Face and there is both a cropped and full length version to make things easier. I went with the cropped one and it retails for £45. This fleece is amazing! It is so warm and cosy and also feels extremely soft so I would highly recommend it. You can buy it here.

The final item I picked up from Asos was a pair of grey skinny jeans. This pair are the classic Topshop Joni jeans which we all know are the best and if not I would highly recommend trying them. This pair retail for £36 and they are honestly the comfiest jeans. You can buy them here

It wouldn’t be an autumn/winter haul without Primark would it? I will try my best to find these items on their website for you to have a look at when they reopen.

The first item I picked up was a pair of fleecy Winnie Pooh pyjamas. So I didn’t get this pair but they were still part of the gifting section and were only £10. These are great gift ideas for Christmas because who doesn’t love Primark PJs? I haven’t worn them yet but they feel so soft and fluffy and will be great for those cold winter nights.

While I was there I also picked up another pair of pyjamas, this pair were a checked shirt and bottom set and again only retailed for £10. I absolutely love the look of these but they aren’t great quality, after wearing them, I discovered that they had a massive hole in the thigh area and also one just underneath the armpit which I was very angry about as I now couldn’t return them. Another thing which is quite annoying about them is that the button holes are quite loose and they come undone a lot but other than that they are comfy and true to size.

The next thing I picked out from Primark was a cream coloured loungewear hoodie, you could wear it outside if you wanted but I would say it’s more of a lounge hoodie, it retails for £12 and is the cosiest hoodie ever! It has a faux fur lining inside which makes it super soft and cosy.

While on the topic of loungewear, I also picked up a pair of grey joggers to lounge around in and honestly these are the best joggers ever! They are flattering on, they are the softest and comfiest thing ever and they are warm. When I picked up mine up I only paid £5 for them but when I went in again looking for another pair to keep at home as spares they had gone up to £10 so as you can tell Primark’s prices are slowly creeping up! I will say one thing about them though, the softness on the outside does go after one wash but on the inside they are still cosy and the material is very soft so if you suffer with eczema on your legs like me these are a god send as they aren’t that horrible rough material on the inside.

Something I do love is Primark’s Jeans, some of them last so long and are good quality and super cheap so when I was in I picked up 2 pairs of skinny jeans, one pair of black for work and this pair of mid blue ones which retail for £10 a pair. I always size up by one in Primark jeans as we all know their sizes aren’t great in most styles the size above does fit but some, mostly their mom jeans I have to size up by 2 sizes.

When I was on a search for jumpers, I ended up buying an oatmeal coloured one which looked so nice on the hanger but when I tried it on I found it hard to pair with anything and also the shape of it was very strange, I found it to be a really long jumper which isn’t something I usually go for and it was also a V shape at the bottom which I didn’t like so I might just try and tuck it in and see how that goes, I believe I paid around £13 for it as it was a while ago that I got it I can’t remember how much I paid. It is a really stunning colour though.

Every year, Primark bring out some high neck long sleeve tops which I always grab a few of as they are great to put with anything! So this year I picked up a black one for work, a grey one and a sage green one which was really pretty. They only retail for £6 each and are just so easy to throw on.

Now I have definitely saved the best til last! I picked up a gorgeous black denim pinafore dress from Primark for only £13! I wear this dress for work all the time and it is so flattering on! If you love something that fits well around those curves and thicker thighs, this is definitely the dress for you. The dress buttons all the way up so if you want to you can easily have a couple of buttons undone and it is also a hook and button fastening so you can have one strap undone if you want to.

The next place I am moving onto is Pretty Little Thing! I have recently been obsessed with Pretty Little Thing and seem to be buying most things from there. The first item I bought is actually due to be delivered today at some point but I thought I would still add it in. Since I didn’t want to pay more money for the same joggers mentioned in Primark, I have been looking for another pair in the same colour and hopefully just as flattering so I heard so much about PLT’s casual joggers and thought I would give them a go, I have picked them up in the Ash Grey colour and paid £17 for them. You can buy them here

Something else I picked up is something I have wanted for a long time but never thought could pull off and thought they were a little too extra for me. I picked up this cream faux leather shacket and honestly this is the most flattering shirt ever but it has that typical fishy smell of faux leather when you first get it out of the packaging. I paid £27 for this shacket and you can buy it here.

Another extra item I picked up are these stunning biker boots which are dupes of the Prada boots. These may not be for everyone, especially with the pouches on them but you can remove them if you want to. I have found with these that the zip is dodgy so I’m hoping with time I can keep getting the zip up further each time and loosen it but I hope it doesn’t take too long because I want to wear them 😫. My best friend thought of the best idea ever with these pouches, she thought a good idea would be to put mini bottles of alcohol in them for when you go out and I think it’s great, much cheaper night! These retail for £41 and you can buy them here

Since 2020 was the year I decided to start university and have to pay 9 grand for online lectures I thought I may as well get a tracksuit to get comfy in while listening to lectures. The one I picked up was absolutely stunning but I didn’t realise I picked it up in petite which I usually fit into on the top half but with the top being cropped, I like a longer crop so this just wasn’t for me and the joggers were a bit tight fitting so I had to return it but I am sure that was just my mistake rather than Pretty Little Thing’s sizing but the tracksuit was on offer and I paid £16 for the top and £12 for the bottoms so it was super cheap. You can buy the tracksuit here

The final thing I got from Pretty Little Thing is possibly my favourite or up there with the shacket! I originally got this dress as a fancy dress costume for Halloween at work as I went as Pennywise but when it came I realised it was stunning quality and I would definitely wear it out when we can go out again so I was extra careful to not get any Halloween makeup on it and I have ended up keeping it. This dress retails for £20 but I believe I got it cheaper than that. You can buy the dress here.

The next store I went to was Boohoo. The first item I picked out from there was a black jumper which I absolutely love! I already own this jumper in cream and had it for awhile, it’s a cropped jumper which twists up at the back and has a little bit of back exposed, I wanted the black version for work mainly but I will still be wearing it a lot. It retails for £20 but is currently down to £9! So be quick. You can buy it here.

A material that I have been loving recently is eyelash fabric and I saw this absolutely stunning cardigan on Boohoo and had to buy it, I have fallen in love with it and currently wearing it now sat here writing this. I bought it for £20 but it’s only available in plus sizes, it’s ok if you like things oversized or fit into plus sizes but if not then it may not be for you. You can buy the cardigan here

One thing I did pick up from Boohoo was something I was so excited for but it was the tiniest skirt you’ve ever seen! I ordered this check shirt and had so many outfits planned but when it came it was so small in length, it didn’t even cover your knickers and I’m not exaggerating it was only £8 but I would definitely not recommend it! The link is here if you want to try it but honestly the picture is so misleading it’s not even that length.

The final place I got more than one item from was New Look. The first item I got is most definitely one of my favourites! I picked up this gorgeous cream teddy coat. Primark had a faux leather aviator coat in that I wanted but I could never get my hands on it so I gave up searching for it and instead saw this teddy bear aviator one at New Look and was instantly in love. I think it’s different and not something that everyone will have and it was only £30. This jacket is so cosy, I wore it for the first time today and already looking forward to going back to work so I can wear it again when I start early morning shifts as I will be warm and toasty. You can buy the jacket here

Although this dress looks a bit strange online, it is actually a really nice colour in real life. I saw this dress when I was shopping in store and ended up exchanging it for something else. I love this style of dress and have another in the same style that I wear a lot so I thought I would get another. I bought it for £18 and you can buy it here.

Another favourite item I got from there was this stunning grey roll neck jumper. I absolutely love the colour of this jumper and it’s also very soft and warm! The fit is amazing, it’s by far my fave jumper for the winter. I bought it for £20 and you can buy it here.

The last few shops are places where I just got 1 item from rather than a haul. I’m going to start with Select where I bought a coat. Select is not a shop I use anymore but recently Charlotte Crosby has started working with them and she has found some absolute steals. This coat retails for £40 and it’s the nicest thing ever! It definitely gives off Pinterest vibes and is also a very warm wool winter coat. I haven’t been able to wear this yet but I can’t wait until I can. I would say just stick to your size or maybe one up because I went 2 thinking about layering underneath and it’s huge on me! But at least I will be warm. Unfortunately I can’t find the link for this coat but hopefully you can find it in your local Select.

The next place I went was Missguided! Missguided has been a firm favourite of mine for many years and their sizing is amazing! From there I picked up a 2 pack of joggers. These joggers are really comfy but they have that horrible rough material on the inside of them which isn’t great for us with eczema. I was also expecting the grey joggers to be a bit lighter so I was a little bit disappointed with them but I will still wear them. This pack retail for £24.50 and you can buy them here

Somewhere I love to buy vintage clothing from is Depop, you can get some absolute steals for such little money, like this reworked Harley Davidson top. I have wanted a Harley Davidson top for ages but they are so expensive so when I saw this for only £15 I had to get it.

A pattern that I really love is Burberry’s classic tartan and when I saw this dupe skirt on Nasty Gal I knew I had to buy it. I was so sad when this came as it didn’t fit properly and is a zip fastening which is the worst! I bought the skirt for £13 and you can buy it here

A really good boutique website that some people may not have heard of before is Pink Boutique where I bought this tweed pinafore dress. This dress looks absolutely amazing on and is really flattering, the sizing is also really good. This dress is currently in the sale for £14.50 but is also currently out of stock.

Something I needed was a new pair of slippers and I had been looking everywhere for some fluffy flip flop slippers but managed to finally find some in TK Maxx for only £6.

This was definitely something I didn’t need but while I was shopping for my mum’s Christmas present in Pandora I thought I would treat myself to this gorgeous angel wing ring which sells for £45. You can buy it here

The final place I went to was Boux Avenue. I really needed some more new PJs so I picked up these PJs in a bag which will also make a fantastic Christmas gift and have plenty of designs to choose from. I will recommend sizing up though as they come quite tight fitting. They retail for £25 a pair and you can buy them here

Overall, I love most of my items and will definitely get lots of wear out of them. I hope by the time we can get back to our normal lives that none of it goes out of fashion so I don’t have it just sitting in my wardrobe but we will see. I would love some suggestions on how to style these items up.
