The Best Stocking Fillers Of 2019

Christmas is just around the corner with 9 weeks to go and I’m sure most of us are struggling to find that perfect gift. Hopefully these gift ideas will help you decide. There are also a few DIY ideas in there too.

1. Slippers, idea number 1 has to be slippers. Slippers make a great gift for anybody as they are practical for this time of year. I always appreciate a new pair of slippers at Christmas it’s nice to know you don’t have any old, grubby ones anymore. TK Maxx have a really great range of slippers if you just pop into your local store. You can do click and collect but I personally think that the store has more choice.

2. Bubble Bar, As we all know Lush do some amazing bath products but if you have anybody fussy on your list like I do who doesn’t like bath bombs but prefers bubble bath then you can still make it fun with a bubble bar and they are pretty cheap to buy. Lush have some great festive ideas.

3. Chocolate Liqueurs, Chocolate liqueurs are sold all over at this time of year and I’m sure there will be at least one person on your list who loves alcohol or alcoholic chocolate. They are also sold so cheap as well which makes it even better. Bailey’s chocolate is probably easier to get hold of than anything else but you will find some in Famous Grouse or Guinness flavours if you go to department stores such as Debenhams. This will be well appreciated by anyone who loves alcohol and chocolate.

4. PJ’s, There really is nothing better than receiving a brand new pair of pyjamas on Christmas morning and getting changed into them and sleeping in them that night. Places such as Primark or Asda sell amazing pyjamas and for such a small price too I would highly recommend these 2 companies for their pyjamas.

5. Mug DIY, My first DIY suggestion would be a mug diy, you can buy a mug from anywhere, I recommend somewhere like B&M for cheaper options or possibly the Disney Store for something a bit more expensive and then you could fill it up with that person’s favourite hot drink such as cappuccino or hot chocolate, preferably something you can get in a sachet and then you can also buy something to accompany the drink such as marshmallows, coffee cream chocolates which you can get from B&M or maybe lotus biscoffs, whatever you think will go with the drink best. You could also make it look all pretty by wrapping it in cellophane and a bit of ribbon.

6. DIY Sweet Jar, A fun diy idea is to make up a sweet jar. I would recommend picking maybe 4 or 5 different types of sweets and then just putting them into a jar. You can buy empty jars from B&M for next to nothing or The Range and then your sweets can come from most places, this is an inexpensive idea for anyone who loves sweets.

7. Darts, I find that a pack of darts make a great stocking filler, it’s a bit different to your usual stocking filler ideas and may come in handy for anyone who enjoys playing a game of darts when they’re out on a night out. You can buy darts from places such as Sports Direct or online.

8. Darts Case, For anyone who plays for a local darts team or takes the game more seriously than others, I would recommend these amazing personalised darts cases. You can buy them from either EBay or Etsy as they are handmade to order.

9. Band Merch T Shirt, Band Merch t shirts are always a good idea as a gift if you know what sort of music the recipient likes. There are so many different band merch t shirts available in Pulp sections of Sports Direct and they have a constant offer on of 1 for £15 or 2 for £20. You may as well get 2 for £20 and then you can buy yourself one for £5 rather than £15.

10. Personalised Dog Mug, anyone have that parent like mine who said they were never having a dog but treat them better than they treat you? Yappy is the perfect website to shop on for gifts. When you log onto the site, it will ask you to type in your dog’s breed, if a cross, type in the one your dog looks more like. After this stage, you will get a few pictures of that breed of dog and see which one matches your dog perfectly. Next, you will be asked for your dog’s name, once that’s in you’re good to go. After all of this it will guide you to your dog’s shop where you can purchase loads of gifts. They have the perfect dog dad and dog mum mugs for only £10 each, well worth it to say it’s a personalisation website which are usually so expensive!

11. Dog Treat Jar DIY, Very similar to the sweet jar but why not get your dog involved in the festive spirit. As I mentioned earlier, jars can be found really cheap at B&M or The Range and B&M also do some amazingly cheap dog treats which you could pick up for your fur babies.

12. Dog Toy, Another fun and festive idea for your fluff balls would be a cute toy, B&M or TK Maxx do some great and cheap festive themed dog toys.

13. Grandma & Granddaughter Necklace, Getting very sentimental and personal here now but these necklaces from Not On The High Street will make adorable little gifts for your grandma if you are really close to her like I am mine. This necklace is also sterling silver so you don’t have to worry about it being fake and turning their neck green.

14. Grandma Notebook, Another personal and sentimental grandma gift could be this notebook if she enjoys writing like my grandma does. I came across this just now on Funky Pigeon whilst I was looking for the other one I was originally going to buy. This may be more personal as it’s a photo notebook.

15. Lokai Bracelet, A Lokai bracelet will be the perfect gift for anybody who suffers with bad mental health issues or just gets down easily in general. This bracelet includes a white bead and a black bead on either side. The white bead is infused with water from Mount Everest, the highest point on earth. This bead represents the highest point in your life and then the black bead is infused with mud from the Dead Sea which is the lowest point of the earth, this is to represent the lowest point in your life. This bracelet overall symbolises a cycle of how you can be at your lowest point and if you keep going and fighting on then you will reach the highest point. It’s a really nice sentimental gift and the bracelet is also pretty.

16. Sweet Tub, sweet tubs are a really good idea for anyone who you’re not 100% sure on what to buy for or if you know of anyone that likes these sweets you may as well just buy them. You can buy them all over but I seem to have found them a lot cheaper in Wilkos.
17. Disney Calendars Or Diaries
The Calendar Club is currently opening up again in empty shopping centre units and they have some of the cutest Disney calendars in and diaries. I picked up a beautiful little Eeyore diary today for only £6 and my grandma will love it! It’s worth going to have a look in if you find that one has opened near you.

18. Sports Team Merch, If you have any people on your list who support specific sports and teams then take note so you can find something that relates to that team. On my list, I have my grandad who is a huge Wakefield Trinity fan. Luckily enough, we have a Wakefield Trinity merch store in our local shopping centre so it’s easy for us but I have also found a history book on the team on EBay so it’s all about looking around and seeing what you can find.

19. Atlas, An atlas is always a very handy gift idea, you can’t beat a paper copy in anything. You can’t rely on technology that much in case it loses signal or loses charge so the best thing to do is to have an atlas on hand, even if you just keep it in the glove box or the boot. You can buy atlases really cheap in The Works.

20. Haribo Tubs, if you live locally to me, you will know that we have a Haribo factory nearby which also has a shop attached to it where you can buy these tubs. If you don’t live locally then I believe places like Amazon also sell the tubs of sweets but make sure you read descriptions carefully as I once ordered some and got to wrong measurement where I paid around £6 for a small bag of Strawberries & Creams this is why since then I have always stuck to the Haribo Shop. If you don’t know about it and you are local and can get there easily, the shop and factory are in Pontefract, Yorkshire.
PS: these sweets are a huge hint as to where the factory and shop are.

21. Luxury Aftershave, If you have a boyfriend similar to mine who definitely likes his names, you could buy a bottle of luxury aftershave for them such as Tom Ford. Tom Ford is my boyfriend’s favourite brand and he has recently discovered their ‘Costa Azzurra’ scent and is really wanting some. This aftershave smells a bit like ‘Davidoff Cool Water’ if anyone is needing a guide.

22. Cardigan, As the winter months approach us, some men really like to wear cardigans. Primark have some amazing men’s cardigans and they are super cheap as well and on trend. I would highly recommend grabbing one.

23. Grinch Chocolate Slab, Now I know I have mentioned chocolate numerous times but I needed to add this in here! This is the most festive chocolate I have ever seen and it’s all handmade. If you are interested in seeing these, you will need to visit Chunky Dunk Chocs website and you will find them all on there.

24. Dressing Gown, I think that a dressing gown always makes a good gift for either Male or female. We all wear dressing gowns to cozy up on a night and they are just perfect. I live in mine. Plus, men always complain that they’re cold but never own a dressing gown and my boyfriend refuses to go and get my spare one because it’s pink even though nobody will see him in it but he’s getting his own this year.

25. Disney Teddy, If you have any Disney fans in your life I think the best thing you can get them is a teddy from the Disney Store of their favourite character and if you’re quick, they are currently only £12.50 for a medium sized one and £25 for a large sized one.

26. Scarf
A scarf would be a great Christmas gift whether woolly or silk. If you have someone on your list who loves a scarf then have a look on Not On The High Street, you will find all sorts of different and interesting pieces for not that much money neither.

27. Mrs Cuthbert’s Gin Set, I don’t know if you’re a regular shopper in B&M but if not then you may not have heard of Mrs Cuthbert’s gin before. I only know of B&M selling this gin and they only do a couple of flavours. This particular set includes 3 miniature gin liqueurs one in Parma Violet flavour, one in Lemon Drizzle flavour and one in Rhubarb & Custard flavour. This set is below £5 and so worth the money. I am still determined to find a B&M that do the big bottles of the different gins and more specifically I would love to find the Battenberg flavoured one.

28. DIY Cocktail Kit, if you have somebody who would much prefer an alcohol set rather than a hot drink set, you can still make your own. On my Christmas list, I have someone who loves Espresso Martini’s so I am going to recreate that by using a martini glass which you could probably buy individually from either TK Maxx or Poundland, I will also need a vodka miniature and a patron xo cafe miniature which can be bought from any supermarket but I just found mine at Asda and then finally I am going to add in a bag of ground espresso which you will also buy from the supermarket and then I will tie it up with ribbon and wrap it in cellophane. You could do this with most cocktails just as long as you can find classic recipes on google and use none refrigerated products inside then it should work. I am still wondering how to stick them into the glass though, possibly thinking of glue dots but I’m not sure yet.

29. Bongos Bingo Ticket, So this might not be a gift for everyone but if you have someone who enjoys nightclubs and partying, this may be the perfect gift. Bongos Bingo is a huge rave inside a building but as you dance and drink they start to call numbers out and it just sounds like so much fun. My boyfriend’s dad is dying to go to one so I may buy him a ticket for Christmas as they are only cheap.

30. Cheeseboard With Cheese, For anyone who prefers a savoury snack to a sweet one, this cheeseboard sells at Marks & Spencer for around £20 and comes complete with a board and cheese and possibly 2 chutneys but don’t quote me on that last bit. I think this is great for a more savoury snack for somebody.

31. Toiletry Set, What is Christmas without receiving at least one toiletry set. I found an amazing one at Boots by Fat Face for men and it comes complete with a body wash, a body spray and a pair of socks which I paid only £9 for even though it was ticketed at £12.50. I believe that all 3 of these are practical items that will be used because it’s no good buying one that won’t get used.

32. Candles, Candles are always a go to stocking filler for most people but it’s being able to find a cheap enough one for the person. You can buy really cheap candles from places such as Wilko’s or TK Maxx.

33. Nail Polishes, My cousin turns 10 years old over the weekend and I was struggling so hard on what to get her as she’s getting too old for toys now so I went with a set of neon coloured nail polishes that I had seen at TK Maxx for only £4. I really hope she is going to love this set.

34. Harry Potter Heat Change Mug, Any Harry Potter fans in your life? If so B&M have a whole gifting range for Harry Potter products which is where I came across a heat change mug for only £4 so I decided to buy that for my cousin and her girlfriend, I just hope they don’t already have them.

35. 100 Jaffa Cakes Box, If you know anybody who is obsessed with Jaffa Cakes then this may be the gift for them. I have seen boxes of 100 Jaffa Cakes all over the place but mainly the Food Warehouse by Iceland. I think this is such a good idea for a gift.

36. Gin, Gin is a huge thing at the minute and more and more flavours are coming out. A recent one I have found is blackberry flavoured and it is so nice! It is by Whitley Neill and only £20 at Sainsbury’s. You can buy flavoured gins from most supermarkets and B&M also do a few different flavours.

37. Westlab Bath Salts, Bath salts are a great idea for anybody who loves them. You will have seen Westlab everywhere but Holland & Barrett are currently doing some seasonal scents Pink Gin, Mulled Wine & Peace On Earth (not sure what peace on earth would smell like) these are only £8 a pack and will make great gifts.
38. Primark Lashes, Primark false eyelashes are the best! You really do not need to pay so much money for a pair of eyelashes when you can either get a pack from Primark for £1 each or you can get a 5 pack for £4. I personally prefer the sultry lashes than the other ones but you can get all of their lashes in 5 packs. I think these make a really good gift as well.

39. Luxury Chocolates, a box of luxury chocolates will make a great gift for someone special. Hotel Chocolat do some great chocolate boxes that are very different flavours to your regular chocolate boxes.

40. DIY Beauty Kits, Remember those kits we used to get as kids where you could make perfume, bath bombs and other stuff as well? Well this year, Superdrug are selling some adult kits to make these items. They have a bath bomb kit, a bubble bar kit, a face mask kit, a candle kit and a crystal soap kit. These kits are only £5 each as well, they are so worth it for anyone who likes this sort of thing.

41. Aldi Chocolates, I had to mention the last idea that I had as these chocolate boxes are brilliant. If you can’t afford to buy a box of luxury chocolates from places such as Hotel Chocolat, Aldi have some amazing boxes that look just as luxury as the Hotel Chocolat ones and they are very different chocolate flavours too. They are only £5 each as well.
